[BAS Newsletter] 1st Friday Demonstration This Friday 2nd June 7pm - Judit Matthews " Illustrative Style of Painting"

Dear Members and friends,

I am pleased to announce that Judit Matthews will be providing something 
different this Friday as she provides an exclusive "Illustrative Style 
of Painting" demonstration to members and friends.

Judit is an illustrative artist working in Banstead. Her subject matter 
ranges from quirky illustrated maps to abstract landscapes with lots of 
little creatures, animals and figures. Judit says "I love pattern and 
colour. I use acrylics, ink with a dip pen and some oil pastels and 
collage too. I don't try to be realistic, I like to break things down, 
simplify them. Most of my work has a naive feel. I don't pay attention 
to scale or colour of the real thing".

Judit has taken part in Channel 4's Watercolour Challenge. Her artwork 
has been  displayed at The Mall Gallery and has also done book 
illustrations which were published in Hungary. She exhibits regularly 
and her work can be seen in many magazine competitions. Some examples of 
her work is shown below.

This demonstration will be held again at The Daylight Inn, Pett's Wood. 
Doors open at 7pm. Free to members but If you wish to bring a colleague 
or friend you would be most welcome for a £6.00pp entrance fee at the 
door. So please come and bring a friend or two.
