Ann Holdway and I have found a really lovely new place to exhibit, albeit a little way away from Bromley. It's called Bourne Hall and it's at Ewell. It's a modern building standing in beautiful grounds and has a beautiful exhibition area right next to a cafe (cheap!), a library and a museum. We are allowed to do what we like while our paintings are there ie sell cards, have browsers, sketch and paint and generally do all the things we do at BEECHE but with a lot more space and a lot more people around. We have booked 2 weeks from 17 October. We're told everyone sells well there so it's worth the journey and here's hoping!
Also, I went to the framers, Mitchells, in Lewisham this week. They're helpful and charge very reasonable prices. I hadn't been there for a long time but I was greeted with enthusiasm and he ensured me that if people tell them that they belong to BAS they will always get a good deal. Chris Turner did an amazing Star Wars picture for my grandson which is enormous. It needs to be framed in perspex which is more expensive than glass. I had expert advice and was quoted an excellent price.

Bourne Hall
The details of this new venue described by Christine and Ann at the committee meeting this week indicate that Bourne Hall is a very worthwhile venue for our exhibition in October and could well be a useful venue for more shows in the future. With space for about 100 works (not large) we should have a really good show.

It is great to find another blogger on the BAS website.
