Dear members and friends,

*1st Friday Art Demonstration.*

This Friday at the Daylight Inn Pett's Wood will be an art demonstration
by Julie King with Gardens and Florals as a topic.

"The beauty and interaction of colour and shapes in nature inspire me to
paint. My style in painting can vary from delicate translucent
watercolours, to free style ink drawings and bolder, yet fresh acrylics.
I also contribute articles to the UK’s Leisure Painter magazine and have
written several successful books on flower painting in watercolour,
published by Search Press."

Julie offers expert tuition in watercolour painting at a wide range of
venues, both in and outdoors. Practical demonstrations and individual
guidance are given to encourage development of individual style. On
Friday she will come to us to provide an exclusive demonstration to
Bromley Art Society.

As before doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start. Just a reminder that
this is free to members of the society who are most welcome to also
bring a friend.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

*Pastel on Velour Workshop this Wednesday*

There are just a few places left on this Wednesday's pastel workshop at
St Georges Church Hall Bickley. If you have not already put your name
down why not give it a try? It costs just £25.00 for the whole day 10am
- 4pm. If interested please get back to me on
/membership.bromleyartsociety at gmail.com/

*Christmas get together on the evening of Friday 6th December at the
Daylight Inn*

I am planning a get together along the lines of last year where we had
fun collaboratively recreating two famous pieces of artwork with our own
twist. This was followed by a buffet put together by Gilly, Joan, Jan
and myself. I hope to organise a similar event with artistic challenges
and fun and games with prizes organised again with the help of my
daughter Kattrina.

/If you can help with the buffet this year please let me know./

I would especially like to see you there as I am hanging my hat up as
chairman at the end of this year as it is the end of my 3 year
committent I gave when I took on the role. I am very grateful for all
the opportunities and challenges the society has given me from when I
first started as a nervous newbie to the Wednesday art session at Ripley
in early 2018. I will continue as membership secretary (if you will have
me) and carry on helping the society where I can but I will start to
pull back on some of my responsibilities which seems to increased as I
continued to try and keep the society going whilst others left it. So
the post of chairman will become vacant. I still very much want the
society to continue so I will stay on as acting chairman in a lesser
degree until another is found.

Kind regards,

Paul
