Dear Members and friends,
*Friday Night Art Demonstration*
This Friday 12th July live at the Daylight Inn we have organised a
demonstration by Anthony Nield, Artist and Illustrator.

"I have painted in watercolours for many years, and started to take it
more seriously whilst working in Bermuda. Watercolour seemed the ideal
medium to capture the natural beauty of the Island. More recently I have
been working in pen and ink. Whilst in Bermuda I exhibited with the
Bermuda arts society. In my first show, two of my paintings were
selected as Presidents choice by the society themselves, and were
purchased and donated to The Masterworks Foundation Gallery. This was
set up many years ago to collect Artist's works who over the years have
painted in Bermuda. Some notable Artists that have paintings in the
Masterworks Foundation Gallery include Winslow Homer, Georgia O’Keeffe,
Ogden Pleissner, and Albert Gleizis to name just a few.
Since returning to the UK I have produced limited edition prints for the
MOD, numerous Christmas Cards and local Kent scenes."
Doors open at 7pm at The Daylight in Function Room, Pett's Wood, BR5
1LZ. Please have your refreshments ready and seated for the
demonstration to start promptly at 7:30pm. There will be a short comfort
break half time and we aim to finish around 9:30pm.
Members are welcome to bring a colleague. I look forward to seeing you.
*St Georges Art Exhibition*
Our art exhibition, which ended on Saturday afternoon, was very
successful in many ways. Sales exceeded expectations helped by a
dedicated team, formed from members who go along to the Wednesday
sessions. They worked tirelessly in organising the exhibition including
staying late to intercept voters on the Thursday evening from the
polling station next door. They did a fantastic job of organising the
whole of the exhibition for members. Thank you.
*August Workshops.*
Thank you to everyone that responded. Planning is well underway and I
should be able to provide further details in the next few days.
Kind Regards,
Paul
