[BAS Newsletter] Urgent - Next Exhibition Opportunity - please respond by Friday 15th Sep

Dear All

*Next Exhibition Opportunity*

The Paxton Centre exhibition is coming up quickly and I have attached 
the handing in forms. This will need a response by 15 September. To 
recap this is a month long exhibition in Crystal Palace, no stewarding 
requirement, Private view on 6 October.

To be successful we desperately need your help with this, particularly 
people to help with the collection, planning and hanging of work, and 
the social media publicity, but a group of people willing to get 
involved in the planning and executing future exhibitions is key.

We also have a one day slot at the Warren's Christmas market booked on 
Sunday 3 December. Given the lack of foot fall at the exhibition in July 
we will focus on the stall we booked. This would make it suitable for a 
smaller group of Artists. It would be used to publicise BAS's activities 
but also to sell more affordable - mostly unframed work/cards  - as 
there would be a limited space.  Participants would need to be involved 
in setup and stewarding. So I can decide whether to progress with this 
or write off the cost, please let me know if you are interested. Again 
this will need support to organise it due to other commitments of 
committee members.

*Art Matters*

7pm  Friday 22nd will be the first Art Matters call after the summer 
break. Officially this is badged as having a Nursery Rhyme theme. To 
ease you in gently I am proposing that we make this an Armchair plein 
Air session. Come along with your sketching materials and refreshment of 
choice and spend an hour sketching from an online image of local 
landscapes.
