[BAS Newsletter] Bromley Art Society Competition results, forthcoming events and 2022 membership renewal.

Dear Members,

As the year draws to an end thank you for membership in 2021 and helping 
to keep our society afloat. 2021 has been a challenging year for us all 
and has meant we have needed to adapt. Although our 1st Friday meetings 
have moved online temporarily, we have tentatively recommenced a few 
live exhibitions, sketching days and regular art sessions on Wednesdays. 
We have also introduced a regular "Art Matters" online meeting where we 
can share opinions and talk about our art together.  We will continue to 
be tentative in 2022 when hopefully we return to meet and socialise face 
to face more regularly.

*2022 membership Renewal*

As membership renewal is nearly here again may I ask for your support 
again in 2022. We have frozen membership fees at £35 this year as we 
hope to encourage new members whilst still broadening our range of 
activities designed to further suit our memberships interests. Please

*One Step Greener competition results and our next challenge
*

Results of the One Step Greener competition were announced on Friday at 
the Christmas Quiz. Thanks to everyone who took part and voted. As usual 
we showed the creativity of the Society’s members. So particular 
congratulations to:

> 3rd Deborah Masters

And commiseration to Brenda Parsons and Elizabeth Davis who were the 
runners up.

*A Postcard from 2021*

We would also like to announce our next online Challenge - this will be 
on the theme of “A Postcard from 2021”  It is not necessary for the 
image to be on an actual postcard - just postcard shaped (Google tells 
me the standard UK postcard is A6 or 5.8x4.2 inches or 148mm by 105mm 
(this is the same format as A5, A4 etc). Full instructions will go out 
soon but will be similar to the most recent challenge. The closing date 
will be mid February but I ham happy to post to a gallery on the website 
before then.

*Christmas Quiz*

The winners of the Christmas Quiz was jointly Jo Harvey and Jan Wilson 
after a couple of recounts. Congratulations to them both. A bottle of 
fizz is going out to each....and a big thank you for Deborah as quiz 
master of 2021.

Art matters "My two influential artists Masters and Modern" discussion.

For our last meeting of December we thought we would share the Artists 
who we find most inspiring. Preferably one old master and one modern 
(however you define that) but that is not essential. Holding up the 
book/the Art work is fine but if you would like us to share beforehand 
please email  exhibitions at bromleyartsociety.org.uk

membership at bromleyartsociety.org.uk so we can share works on screen. All 
welcome to come along and maybe find some new Artists

*Friday 14th Jan 2022*

For our first meeting of 2022  Art matters - "My favourite or 
interesting piece of art in 2021" discussion Friday 14th Jan 2022.

For January we are planning a joint First Friday/Arts Matters Meeting. 
Hopefully everyone produced something in 2021 that they are particularly 
proud of - here is your chance to share it with your fellow Society 
members. We are happy for you to share your screen, send a photo to Paul 
and I beforehand or holding up to the screen. No need to have done your 
homework (though we hope you will) to come along and be inspired.

Bromley Art Society AGM together with results of our membership survey 
and "Postcard of 2021" competition.

First Friday demonstration tba.  Could this be our first tentative
