Your committee is planning online events for the first half of next year
and will announce these shortly. We are not booking for the whole year
yet in the hope that we can return to physical meetings later. I give
you early warning of two forthcoming events

Our Christmas meeting will be an art themed quiz, on 4th December, with
some novel types of question. We hope you will join it with a glass of
something nice and some nibbles, although that won't replace the lovely
spread that Gilly and her team have arranged for us in recent years.

Our AGM on 5th March will include a painting competition on the theme of
"Ring in The New".

Details of prizes and rules to follow, but give yourself some time to
think about it.

A New Website and Exhibition Galleries

I am very grateful to Deborah, Paul and Jules for work on the website.
Deborah has provided the following update:

The BAS website has had a facelift and we are working to add some
galleries both for Members Work and for online exhibitions. You are
encouraged to go take a look but please be aware that work continues so
you may find a message to say that the website is offline - if so
please come back later.

It was our plan to launch an online Christmas Exhibition but with the
latest lockdown and not wishing to commit people to having to deliver
sales personally we have decided to postpone this until next year. In
the meantime we are planning to take this opportunity to re-establish a
members gallery and probably some smaller themed galleries based on a
set subject or challenge. This will give everyone the opportunity to
share a small selection of their work, and optionally some text and
links to their websites, social media links etc. We will send out
details shortly but in the meantime start thinking about what you would
like to show, we’d like to include everyone.

In order to support this Deborah will also run a short Zoom conference
to run through simple ways to prepare your images so that these are
displayed to their best advantage - no tripods or software downloads
will be required -  this will also help with future exhibitions. It is
her aim to cover taking the photograph and subsequent editing using
Apple products (iPads, iPhones, Macs) and providing there is a willing
volunteer Windows. We’d like this to cover any questions people have so
if there is anything you would like it to cover please let Deborah know
on exhibitions at bromleyartsociety.org.uk

See you all later, I hope!
