Hi All
Here are a few other resources that have popped up in my emails over the last month or two and then lurked in my drafts folder for weeks.
Members news
If you look on the Bromley Art Society facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/bromleyartsociety <https://www.facebook.com/groups/bromleyartsociety> you will see some of the Art related activities that members are involved in but a few highlights here but look out for more:
Melanie Cambridge
Monthly Zoom Paint Along / Demos : Melanie is offering to keep your spirits up with a series of monthly Paint / Along Demo sessions via Zoom. She says - A 2-hour demo which you can either simply watch and interact with via zoom, or choose to paint along, followed by access to a video of the event, valid for 14 days, so participants can re-watch at their own pace. I also provide notes and a list of materials in advance of each event. All for the bargain price of £10.00.
Bookings or this and her other on-line tuition can be found on her website: https://melaniecambridge-fine-art.co.uk/art-courses.html <https://melaniecambridge-fine-art.co.uk/art-courses.html>
Diana McKinnon
Many of you enjoyed Diana’s demo back in the first First Friday meeting of the year. She has recently upgraded her website and it can be found here https://www.dmckinnon.co.uk <https://www.dmckinnon.co.uk/>
Emily Brand
One for those of you who are (or were) commuters. Emily is currently doing a series of Monoprints of local stations. You will find them on her website under prints and cards here https://emilybrandart.co.uk <https://emilybrandart.co.uk/>
A number of Artists are also involved in various Christmas fairs at the moment so do look out for their posts
Online Art
Jacksons have provided a further update to their online Art Courses - it can be found on their blog here https://www.jacksonsart.com/blog/2020/11/03/online-art-classes-for-adults/ <https://www.jacksonsart.com/blog/2020/11/03/online-art-classes-for-adults/>
The Royal Academy have recently released some videos of the Anthony Gormley exhibition in the summer. There is also a few Artists videos. I thought this one of Anne Desmet was interesting given a video of someone engraving is quite rare https://www.royalacademy.org.uk/article/anne-desmet-the-engraver-video <https://www.royalacademy.org.uk/article/anne-desmet-the-engraver-video>
One for the Artists who’s work tends more to the abstract. Ian Davenport’s work has popped up in my Painting Course. There are a lot of videos around of how he works (having a supply of syringes seems to be quite useful), but I have added this one as everyone I have shown it to so far has gasped at the relevant point - Look At All That Paint! https://www.iandavenportstudio.com/video/13/ <https://www.iandavenportstudio.com/video/13/> I can only hope he is sponsored by Liquitex.
And finally, I am sure that for the Textile Artists among us this website will need no introduction - for anyone who is curious might be worth a look https://www.textileartist.org <https://www.textileartist.org/>.
Hope you find something to inspire you.
Best wishes for Christmas
Deborah
