Summer is nearly over, so BAS starts the winter term. And I am late
telling you about it.  Our "First Friday" speaker for September will be
Frank Walters with a demonstration of "Buildings in watercolour".

Frank Walters studied art at Hornsey art school before starting a long
and successful career in advertising. He believes in teaching the
principles of technique without being prescriptive about what people
paint. His website athttps://www.frankwatercolours.com/
<https://www.frankwatercolours.com/> shows a variety of works, not just
buildings. I particularly like the "Get Expressive" section which shows
a brightly coloured lobster.

Friday 6th Sept at Ripley, 7.30 for 8pm I hope you can join us.

----------------------------------------------------

It's going to be an arty weekend, Deborah has organised a sketching day
for us and writes:

The last Sketching Day of the year will take place this Sunday

Location:

Greenwich Riverside: River, boats, ORNC buildings – Maritime Museum etc.

For those who like a challenge walk under foot tunnel or hop on DLR to
Island Gardens for a view of the Naval college across the river, or walk
up the hill for impressive views of Docklands, the City and the Dome.

Transport:

DLR to Cutty Sark, Greenwich station railway station is a short walk and
multiple bus routes pass through Greenwich

Be aware that  virtually all parking in and around Greenwich and in the
park will be pay and display (c £3 an hour) or too limited in duration
to be useful. Free parking is available on Blackheath or Lewisham
council carparks are free then hop on the bus or DLR

Public transport almost certainly best but don’t forget to check for
Engineering works before you set off. .

Meet:

Hope to see you there

Deborah
