Bromley Art Society Bringing Artists Together since 1947

Our last exhibition at Bourne Hall proved very successful. It is a delightful space, light and airy and set in beautiful grounds. Within the same area as the exhibition is an excellent café and a library and there is a museum upstairs. We found the staff pleasant and helpful. They provide us with a table at which we can sit and paint, making the time there pass very quickly. There is a car park which is not free but the charge last year was very reasonable.

Because of the distance, we are asking stewards to stay for half a day or, better still, the whole day. It is relatively easy to look after the exhibition here but it is essential to have two people.

The journey by car from Bromley usually takes around 45 minutes but more time is needed in the rush hour. It is a very straightforward route, first to Croydon and then the A232 all the way. As an alternative, Ewell Station is 5 minutes away. One suggestion is that stewards team up for the journey and share expenses.

Your are invited to submit up to 4 framed and 5 unframed pictures. This year there will also be space for some craft work. Please contact me for more details about this.

The committee accepts that stewarding at Bourne Hall would be difficult for some members but we do ask that if you choose to exhibit here you do make an effort, if at all possible, to make this commitment. Alternatively, or in addition, we would be very grateful for help in taking equipment and artwork to Bourne Hall and helping to hang the exhibition on the morning of Monday 30 April.

Arrangements can be made to take and collect your paintings to and from Ewell. If you wish for help in this way, you can take your work to the studio at Ripley between 10am and 3pm on Wednesday 25 April and collect from there on 16 May between 12 noon and 3pm.
