Hello, fellow artists, Adrian has arranged my access to the Webpage again. I had forgotten and lost my password. So, expect a wee stir at some time.
The SAA has taken over a very good art sales company allowing members to offer work for sale. It is worth checking the SAA web presence for information. Members who register will get their subscription elevated to Gold level. It didn't work for me because I have Platinum membership already, which covers my rare one-man shows.
It is that time again when Derek Burt and I have a show at The G&D, Ightam.
Date: Friday 19 June 2015 to Sunday 21 June 2015.
We hang on Friday and take down on Sunday afternoon from about 4 pm.
Book your tables for fine fare - it's Fathers' Day on the Sunday.
Come for a chat, anyway.
Remember to bring your family and friends.
RA and Ruben and his legacy: a visit with Derek. This is truly worth a visit. Thoroughly enjoyable and encouraging.
A recent trial in the Netherlands found an artist guilty of plagiarism. He had painted a portrait from a photograph he found in a publication. The photographer challenged in a court of law and won. Lesson? Work from our own photos.
I enjoyed yesterday evening at Ripley. Thank you all for the kind words and the gift. The critique session was great fun and encouraged me to explore different ways of observing and creating.
Penny has once again put together a very interesting programme for us for our "First Friday" meetings. You can find it at http://www.bromleyartsociety.org.uk/programme. The first of these is not till February, but the Ripley sessions on Wednesdays start next week, 7th January.
Ken sold one. Derek won a commission and sold a piece after the show. I weep! I wept even more after the news this evening - £2.2 million for an unmade bed at auction. Saachi has done well again...
Laughter filled the exhibition room Yesterday and it is expected again today. I have booked a table for lunch and will be there for the whole day and hope to see you. It is a very good show.
The exhibition of works by Derek, Ken and I is up and running this weekend and ends at 6 pm on Sunday. Come and see! The show is in the pub function room on the first floor. Grub at the pub is outstandingly good. For the tennis addicts there is a very large television screen, too.
Today is Ightam's Village Fair day centered on the parish church. Visit and enjoy everything; have fun!
