<p><b>Message to all members, friends and colleagues of Bromley Art
Society - This year in particular we urgently need people who
have the vision and committent to keep local artists together.</b></p>
<p>Bromley Art Society has enjoyed 76 years of successfully bringing
artist together within Bromley and neighbouring boroughs. Last
year we had many successful events including the exhibition at the
Glades, a live workshop at Ripley for the first time and we moved
our Wednesday Sessions to a new location at St Georges<b>,</b>
Bickley. This is whilst we organise regular monthly events
throughout the year and keep the society financially sound. <br>
</p>
<p>These events do not happen on there own but depend entirely on
the continuous energy and committent of a few who are willing and
able to help run the society on behalf of others. I think the
society can boast that it also has many loyal members that have,
and continue to, contribute much of their personal time in helping
events without which they would not happen.</p>
<p>Each year, especially in the last two or three, we have asked for
people to help run the society. This is largely because of a range
of personal circumstances has caused people to pull out of the
committee or reduce their committent. We are now unfortunately
left with too few running the society. This is no longer
sustainable. We urgently now need people who have the vision and
committent to keep creating the means to bring local artists
together on behalf of those artist<b>.</b> We also need people to
help support that endeavour and look after our finances,
administration and publicity. The society depends on people
proactively fulfilling these key roles:<br>
</p>
<p>Chairman<br>
Treasurer<br>
Secretary<br>
Membership Secretary<br>
*Lead Exhibition and Events Organiser(s)<br>
*1st Friday Organiser<br>
*Webmaster<br>
*Publicity & Media officer(s).</p>
<p>At the moment we do not have anyone fulfilling the roles of <b>Lead
Exhibition and Events Organiser(s), 1st Friday events organiser,
Webmaster and Publicity & Media officers</b>. These are all
key roles without which we will have no further events on behalf
Bromley Art Society. unless some of our members can take up the
helm. <br>
</p>
<p>Our membership and finances are currently strong. We have the
experience, expertise and will amongst our members but what we
don't have is sufficient proactive people on the committee to keep
us going. It is a wonderful rewarding opportunity to get to know
other local artist and help like minded people come together. You
will receive a warm welcome and support from people who are
dedicated to helping keep our society going.<br>
</p>
<p>If you can help our society or know someone who could help please
do not hesitate to get in contact with myself or any of the
committee.</p>
<p><b>* A reminder that membership fees are now overdue for 2024.</b></p>
<p>There are still a few who have not yet renewed their<b> </b>membership
- please renew as soon as possible to avoid me having to chase
people up individually. Instructions can be found at <b><a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://www.bromleyartsociety.org.uk/members/membership-renewal/">https://www.bromleyartsociety.org.uk/members/membership-renewal/</a></b><br>
</p>
<p></p>

<div dir="ltr">"Hi Bromley Art Society, </div>
<div dir="ltr"><br>
</div>
<div dir="ltr">Thanks so much for inviting me to
demonstrate Panpastels with mixed media.. Everyone
was very welcoming.. I had a lovely evening..</div>
<div dir="ltr"><br>
</div>
<div dir="ltr">Attached a both the pictures I
completed.. </div>
<div dir="ltr"><br>
</div>
<div dir="ltr">The first one was painted on a white
sheet of Canson Mi Teintes, a 50% Cotton paper,
using Panpastel, then watercolour and then pastel to
finish. bear in mind, Canson Mi Teintes doesnt
really like water and buckles, but if taped down
well and a hair dryer used it seems to bounce back
pretty well. I don't soak the paper, i just use
little bits of water.</div>
<div dir="ltr"><br>
</div>
<div dir="ltr">The technique is just getting the right
amount of panpastel on so it rejects the watercolour
a little bit and creates a dry brush effect. </div>
<div dir="ltr"><br>
</div>
<div dir="ltr">The second painting was done on Canson
Touch a micro abrasive primed paper. It a mixed
media paper so likes water., can still buckle though
if over soaked.</div>
<div dir="ltr"><br>
</div>
<div dir="ltr">Colours used in both, Dairylide
Yellow tint, Orange Tint, Ultramarine, Ultramarine
Tint, Magenta Extra Dark. Paynes Grey... I do have
a 10 and 20 sets of panpastels that have been
created fo me by Panpastel available from jacksons
and other outlets, Heres a link to the colour in the
10 set.<a
