'Twas the Night before Christmas, when all through the house<br>
Not a sound could be heard but keyboard and mouse<br>
The BAS Newsletter was late once again, I do fear<br>
The Chairman was weeping "Our Exhibition is near"<br>
<br>
The rules were all settled in Microsoft Word<br>
With provisions made for entries absurd<br>
And Tennyson's verse set up such a clatter<br>
That rhyming and scansion seem'd no more to matter<br>
Ring out the old, ring in the new<br>
Ring out Covid, Wring out the EU<br>
<br>
Ring out all Tiers, Bring Artists In<br>
Let's Paint and Draw and sculpt once ag'in<br>
The Trump is going, let him go;<br>
Ring out the false, ring in the true<br>
You artists must all know what to do<br>
Ring out the darkness , Ring in the light<br>
<div style="position: absolute; left: -99999px;">
Ring in the love of truth and right,<br>

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!

<p>By all of which I mean to say that the instructions for our
competition exhibition are attached. You should by now have
wrapped yourself a few pencils, brushes and paints under the tree
just in case Santa misses you out. Pour a small something, draw
yourself up to a Youtube video of a crackling fire and think about
some art. I shall be taking my own advice - I have not managed to
paint anything since March, but if I can't paint during a Tier 4
Christmas I shall give up. <br>
</p>
<p>This online competition and exhibition is a new format, so please
keep an eye out on the website and these newsletters for any
changes to the arrangements. <br>
</p>
<p>If I can make one serious point, please give some thought to my
health service colleagues, some of whom are in desperate
straights. Christine and I went for our allotted exercise
yesterday in Beckenham Place Park and people were all over the
paths with not a thought of distancing. This is serious. Have a
look at</p>
<p><a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/interactive-map">https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/interactive-map</a> and play
with the time slider at the top as well as putting in your
postcode and zooming right in. <br>
</p>
<p>Stay home, Eat Drink and Be Artistic. We hope to see the fruits
of your labours on 8th Jan when we have a social zoom meeting.
Details will of course follow. <br>
</p>
<p>Have a Merry and Safe Christmas and let's make 2021 a Happier
Year for all of us and those around us.<br>
