Dear All
Please see below information relating to a Spring Exhibition opportunity. To allow us to plan please can you:
Confirm your interest to bromleyartsocietyevents at gmail.com <mailto:bromleyartsocietyevents at gmail.com> by 26th February at the latest.
Confirm what would you like to exhibit - dependent on space and size of work I would think 1-3 works
Do you wish to exhibit unframed work or cards?
Confirm your ability to steward and any days you can’t do.
Raise any questions you might have. We don’t want to exclude anyone.
Thanks
Deborah
Bromley Art Society at Riverhill Bluebell Festival
24th April - 6 May 2024
I am pleased to say we have been invited to take part in the Riverhill Bluebell Festival again. This is an annual event organised by a BAS member and allows us to exhibit alongside other makers and Artists showing work relevant to the event. The site has good footfall and last year there was a steady flow of visitors even during days of torrential rain. We are planning to take a larger wall space this year. It is a lovely venue with, as you would expect, lots of bluebells and good for sketching and plein air.
The Festival will run over 2 weeks - Wednesday 24 April to Monday 6 May. The exhibition will be open Wednesday to Sunday both weeks and Bank holiday Monday 10.30-5pm.
Set up will be Tuesday 23rd April (delivery arrangements to be confirmed), Collection Monday 6th May at 4.30pm preferably from the venue. .
Key Points
The theme is slightly broader than last year. Work must be on the theme relevant to the Festival So almost certainly relating to Spring or preferably Bluebells. If you would like to exhibit work that is not absolutely on those themes please email me to discuss.
We’d prefer that this is new work not exhibited at Riverhill before.
Work will be hung directly on the wall. Pictures must be ready to hang and frames and work clean and well presented.
We have a certain amount of table space for unframed works/cards please let us know if you would be interested in this.
Anyone taking part must do at least ½ day stewarding.
Sales will be handled by the exhibition organisers rather than Bromley Art Society.
If you do not have a car you will probably need to travel to Sevenoaks and get a taxi or hitch a life with a fellow exhibitor.
I am proposing that work is collected at one location and transported to Riverhill and for work to be collected at the end either direct from the venue or from the collection point(s).
In addition to the stewarding I will also need someone to help me transport and hang to the exhibition on Tuesday 23rd and to take it down at the end.
The exhibition is open to paid up members of Bromley Art Society.
The venue will be manned by at least 2 stewards while open (hence the need for stewards).
All exhibits are submitted at the owners’ risk. Bromley Art Society has public liability insurance that covers our work causing injury to the public only. We will take all due care but if you need greater cover then it is your responsibility to obtain it.
Coffee and tea are provided and there is an excellent café on site.
Handing in fee tbc. Last year we charged £10 per Artist. A 20% commission and a card transaction fee (dependent on rates at the time) will be deducted from sales to support Riverhill.
Location: Riverhill Himalayan Gardens, Riverhill, Sevenoaks, Kent, MTN15 ORR

The gardens are currently closed for the winter reopening on 13 March. The Bluebell Festival is already on the events list.
