Dear Members,
As we return from our August summer break I am pleased to announce that
our 1st Friday demonstration will be held at a new convivial venue. Next
Friday 2nd September it will be held 7pm at the Function Room at THE
DAYLIGHT INN, STATION SQUARE, PETT'S WOOD, ORPINGTON, BR5 1LZ.
In keeping with the venue we have secured for members, Lewis Hazelwood-
Horner, an oil painter who specialises in indoor scenes.

You are encouraged to support the society by joining us in a more
relaxing environment and experience a different kind of demonstration.
Refreshments will be available from the bar.
Members are most welcome to bring a colleague or two but at a
contribution of £5.00 per person on the door please.
You are most welcome to just turn up but please let us know if you are
planning to attend so we can gauge numbers.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
More to follow but....
*We need your help urgently please.
*
Thank you to those that have already responded to our appeal and offered
reservist support. However we are now in dire need of your participation
on the committee, which has through a series of personal circumstances
become seriously depleted and is set to become worse next year. We now
find it difficult, if not impossible at times, in having the necessary
number of people present for decisions to be allowed to enable the
society to function. Unless we get further people on the committee the
society's committee is seriously in danger of folding next year through
the inability to form the required quorum (min 5 people). Please
consider joining our committee to ensure it survives into next year. You
are welcome to join just as an observer so we can make effective
decisions. We meet approximately 10 times a year either on Zoom or at a
live venue. In addition a few of the committee members, after many
dedicated years, need to pass on their baton which they have carried so
well. Specifically we will be losing our Secretary and Treasurer and we
need someone to help with organising the 1st Friday events into next year.
If you can help please contact me or speak to one of the committee. We
will be there on Friday at the Daylight INN.
Kind regards,
Paul
