First Friday
=========
Our First Friday event this month will be on this coming Friday 5th
November at 7pm and will be a talk given by Peter Richards about his
artistic process. Many of you will remember Peter's previous,
provocative and entertaining talks.
The title for Peter's talk will be "Me (and other artists)"
He has asked that members do some homework (typical teacher) by watching
the video which is linked at the bottom of the page at
https://www.peterichards-artist.com/peter-richards-artist
Note that the web address has only one r in the middle of peterichards
If you have problems with it, you can find the video shorn of its
environment at https://player.vimeo.com/video/371215757
Zoom details will follow.
Art Matters
=========
The next Art Matters meeting is on Friday 19th November at 7pm.
The theme is art works on the subject of Fireworks. As usual any medium
is welcome and please feel free to come along and join us whether you
are going to share a work or not.
Zoom details will be sent nearer the time
One Step Greener Competition
========================
We have had some really creative interpretations of the theme - though
apologies to those whose work isn't on the website yet.. As I know some
people are not quite there we are extending the closing date till Monday
8th November. If you missed the email back at the end of September the
information is also on the website
If you can't find the original email, here's a summary
The photograph should show flat works without frames and without glazing
and should be cropped to include only the work itself. 3D works should
be sufficiently lit and have an appropriate background if needed. If you
can please Photographs should have a resolution of at least 924 x 924
pixels and no more than 1200 on the longest edge and in .jpg format and
it really helps us if you have saved the image with your name in the
file name. If there are any questions please let us know on
exhibitions at bromleyartsociety.org.uk.
Include the following:
• Photo file at a minimum to include your name and preferably work
title (see guidance above re file size)
• Exhibitors name
• Title of work
• Medium
• Size preferably in cm, height first.
• Short text about the work – This should be less than 100 words and is
optional
• Contact details (this is optional don’t forget we can still include
you in the BAS Members gallery)
It would be helpful if the email subject line has “One Step Greener” +
your name so that you are easy to find
BAS Survey
=========
Don't forget to respond to the survey about the society’s activities and
plans for the future. The email came out from Paul Stringfellow on 19th
October. We really appreciate your views. If you can't find the original
email, just go to https://forms.gle/N4gtcLBfpTyEdUxq6 and tell us what
you want. We have made it as simple as possible.
Save the date
===========
We are hoping to announce a one day Christmas Exhibition on 27th
November - information should be available by the weekend
The Arts Society, Bromley
====================
No, not us - our brothers and sisters in arms. BAS is mainly for
practitioners of the arts, The AS, B is for art appreciation, if I may
summarise. We agreed to promote each other's events. I apologise to them
that I have already missed the first because the day job has been a bit
busy!
If you wish to attend, the first lecture is free and membership is only
£46 a year. I would be very happy to welcome you to our next lecture.
Meetings commence at 7.45 with lectures lasting about an hour. Doors
open 7.15 with coffee, tea and water available and a chance to mingle
with members.
Sue Glazebrook, Programme Secretary
Monday 6th December GOLD! Lecturer Timothy Schroder
