[BAS Newsletter] Bromley Art Society Art Matters 26 March Meeting

Dear All

This Friday’s Art Matters meeting will be another practical. With the rules expected to change on 29th to allow some outdoor gatherings  it was suggested that we had a Theme of a Meeting in the Garden or a Spring Garden. And for those who might find their actual garden is too much of a distraction we can also start a discussion about plein art painting/urban sketching. 

Last week’s meeting saw some interesting and innovative treatment of the Cutlery theme - from watercolour abstracts to a homage to the Four Candles/Fork handles sketch. I will be posting the imagesI receive on the website over the next few days so please go and take a look.  
And to confirm the discussion on the day - the Artist who paints with syringes is Ian Davenport. There are a number of videos of how he works on line, most of which will scare to death anyone who paints in their house - I would recommend the one entitled The Making of Everything. And the Art work I couldn’t remember the name of was Jasper John’s Regrets.
