[BAS Newsletter] Valerie Watts

I am sorry to have to inform members of the recent death of Valerie 
Watts, a member of BAS for many years. Valerie was a stalwart of the 
Wednesday sessions. For as long as I can remember, Valerie's hands were 
terribly deformed by arthritis and yet she painted the most exquisite 
watercolours with the brush somehow wedged in her hands. She remained 
good humoured and liable to tease.

The funeral will be held at 10.00 am on Friday 20th August at Kennan 
Park Cemetery, A20 Sidcup By Pass, Chislehurst BR7 6RR followed by the 
wake at Valerie’s home at 1 Robin Hill Drive BR7 5ER.

As there are no restrictions on numbers attending funerals, all are 
welcome.   Her son, Graham has asked to find out how many of Valerie’s 
art friends may be able to attend her funeral and how many would like to 
attend the gathering with her friends and family at her house 
afterwards, this will help them to estimate numbers for catering etc. 
Gilly has offered to co-ordinate our members with this.
