More ideas for keeping you all busy with thanks to those who have
contributed them.

Work continues on the new website.  My thanks to the five people on the
design commmittee and two testers. I foolishly asked for comments on an
initial design idea. The structure has more or less been accepted, but
the colours .... Who would have thought that artists could argue so much
about colour? Some hated it, others liked it. So dear membership it's
over to you. There are 5 screenshots attached that differ only in
colour. The contents are random junk. Do you like the font? Which colour
do you like best?

Or to put it in proper marketing speak 'Which colour best projects the
values of Bromley Art Society in the 21st Century?'

Drop me an email with your comments and preferences if you wish. Did I
mention that the Chairman's decision is final?

Those of you who have enjoyed my technical notes at times will
appreciate the technical resources of the art companies that do it best.
I am a great fan of Winsor Newton and Golden in this respect. WN is a
very old company and Golden quite new so they make an interesting pair.
WN offer technical resources and history in addition to the youtube
channel I pointed out recently.

https://www.winsornewton.com/uk/discover/about-us for the historical aspects

Golden have a fantastic website. I find it easier to navigate than W&N,
so I just put one link here to their resource section and one to their
separate newsletter site. I can get lost in both for hours.

Sennelier have a nice range of videos - some in English with a charming
French accent, some in French with English subtitles. Learn French and
art at the same time! Like Winsor, but a few years later, Sennelier was
a scientist. (Newton was as Artist) and the history page is also
interesting. I have never found their technical information to be as
good as others.

And Jacksons are really beginning to get a good set of articles. They
also have a materials book, first edition free on line - if you can find
it.

For my last technical recommendation today, try MITRA hosted by the
University of Delaware. I have asked questions on technique there and
had answers from Professors of Art and well known artists!
