Happy New Year
*First Fridays*
Our first "First Friday" of the year will be on Friday 7th February and
will be a "Four Corners" event. It's a while since we have had one of
those. For newer members I point out that these involve four different
small demonstrations that you can visit at will. I'm going to keep you
guessing what the four are - those who have already paid their subs will
know. We want to continue the habit of starting the evening earlier at
7.30 pm with a chance to talk to other members. We would also like to
continue with the tea rota - men and women equally - to reduce the
strain on the long term helpers.
/*SO PLEASE re-join now and support your Art Society*/

We have put back the AGM until our March meeting to align better with
the tax year (and our treasurer's role in it). In March we shall also
have a bring and buy sale. Details to follow.
*An Exhibition! *
The BAS Spring Show at Ripley will run from 24th March to 2 May 2020
with an Open evening 30 March
Handing in will be on Monday 23rd March 2-5pm, collection of work on
Monday 4th May 9.30-10.30.
More details to come in the next few weeks but in the mean time if there
is anyone who would like to exhibit 3 dimensional work can you please
contact Deborah on the email below so she can assess if there is
sufficient interest to use the cabinet again.

*Your chance to star*
Deborah is also looking for some high quality photos of Art work that
you are planning to exhibit - preferably from someone who hasn’t had
their work used before. We need images for the Ripley and Bromley Art
Society websites and our social media sites. Ripley is looking for about
5 images ASAP so they can be added to the exhibition publicity on their
website - so if there is anyone who can move quickly we would be very
pleased to receive some images. NB please note that if you share images
you will be giving us permission to use them across the different sites,
we aren’t planning to do anything untoward with them but e.g, it is not
always possible to have a clear attribution of Artists name due to the
way that some of these sites work and we may need to crop the image.

A number of new exhibition venues were suggested by people at the
Christmas Party which we are following up but if there is any thoughts
at all then please contact us.
*Give us a hand*
Some committee members are stepping down and we can always use extra
help on the committee. Please consider joining the committee. Yes there
is some work to do - quite a bit in some roles - but we also have fun
doing it. Any similarities to Vicar of Dibley are accidental.
Other committee members are willing to continue but all will have to
stand for election at the AGM.
See you soon!
